DHL Express Verified Delivery
What is Verified Delivery?
Verified Delivery is a secure DHL Express service where the courier can only hand over your shipment once a unique QR code is scanned at the door. The code is sent directly to the receiver through DHL notifications (email, SMS, or WhatsApp).
How does delivery work now?
- DHL notifies you that your shipment is on the way.
- You receive a QR code in your DHL On Demand Delivery (ODD) messages.
- When the courier arrives, you must show this QR code.
- The courier scans it.
- Only then can the package be handed over.
If the QR code is not available, the courier cannot deliver the parcel.
Why is Ace moving to Verified Delivery?
We handle highly collectible, high-value cards. Verified Delivery provides stronger protection against misdelivery, porch theft, and fraudulent claims. It ensures a controlled, validated handover every time.
Why has shipping increased to £7.99?
Verified Delivery carries an additional cost per shipment.
Ace already subsidises shipping heavily, and this small increase allows us to maintain:
- safer delivery
- full DHL Express service
- continued subsidised pricing
- reliability for every submission
Do I need ID?
No. You only need the QR code that DHL sends you.
What happens if I’m not home?
You can forward the QR code to someone you trust (partner, family member, friend). Whoever presents the valid QR code can receive the parcel. DHL will not deliver without it.
Can the QR code be resent?
Yes — DHL can resend the QR notification to the contact details originally submitted with your order.
Can I change my contact details after shipping?
No. For security, DHL locks the shipment’s contact details once it has been collected.
If the details are wrong, the parcel must be returned and re-shipped with correct information.
Can my parcel be delivered to a different address?
Yes, as long as a valid QR code is presented. Ace may restrict certain ODD options to maintain security.
Are signatures still used?
No. With Verified Delivery, there is no signature. DHL’s Proof of Delivery will simply show “Delivered” once the QR code is validated.
What ODD delivery options are not allowed?
These options are disabled for security:
- Signature Release
- Leave with Neighbour
- Leave in a Safe Place
- Collection from Service Point (until approx. 2026)
What happens if I cannot provide the QR code?
DHL will treat the shipment as undeliverable and return it. Return fees apply.
